Treatment day: Absorb
Gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this as needed for the full day of procedure until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph.
You can wash your face with facial soap but do avoid your brow area. You may rinse your brow area with water but do not soak or scrub your eyebrows.
Day 1-14: Wash/Cleanse
Wash daily to remove bacteria and dead skin. (Don’t worry – THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!)
When washing your face, gently and lightly cleanse your eyebrows with gentle antibacterial cleanser. Tap the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. Gently pat dry your brow area with tissue/dry towel to absorb the water.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- DO NOT touch the healing brows with your fingers as they may have bacteria on them and create infection.
- DO NOT use cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic or AHA), or any exfoliants. Read the ingredients on the product you are using!
- DO NOT rub, pick, pull or scratch at the scab. Let any scabbing or dry skin fall off naturally. Picking may cause scarring, poor pigment retention or loss of color.
- DO NOT apply makeup to the brow area during the healing process.
- DO NOT apply facials, Botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 8 weeks after the procedure.
- DO NOT apply hot compresses (hot towel).
- AVOID heavy sweating (sports, laborious work, gym, etc) or prolonged sun exposure (sunbathing, tanning).
- AVOID getting the brows wet other than when cleansing. This includes no swimming, sauna, hot yoga, steam room, steamy showers, or sun beds.
- AVOID sleeping on your face.
- If you experience anything out of the ordinary or see any sign of infection, CONTACT YOUR PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.
